VisualBlogger Beta 1 This Weekend!
I'm wrapping up the last features for the first beta of VisualBlogger 2004. Wanted to give a brief status report on where I am at, what features it has, and what features are left to be done before the final release.

Screenshots and Update for VB2004
Made some major headway in the past 24 hours, so I thought I'd show off where we're at so far. As soon as Jamie Cansdale gets back from his week-long ski trip (lucky bastard), I can wrap up the VS.NET integration code. Just so you know, VisualBlogger 2004 will operate in two modes: Standalone and IDE Integrated. You'll be able to use this program just like Microsoft Word if you want, or you can dock it in the same place as the Output window in VS.NET, and blog from the dev environment. You could even use it as a real simple HTML editor if you want. We don't have any table support yet (don't know if we ever will) but you could always add those in manually.

How To Screw Up VS.NET 2003 In One Easy Step
Step 1) Install the VS.NET 2003 Documentation Update because you forgot you already had the MSDN Library from your Universal subscription installed.

Visual Studio 2003 Documentation Update
For those of you that don't have an MSDN subscription, you can download an 80MB update to the VS.NET 2003 documentation. I'm told that it contains 5000 code samples, bug fixes and content improvements. The link I gave you is a direct link to the file (in English), so have at it :).

Are YOU In Design Mode?
Scott Hansleman talks about page instantiation while designing ASPX pages in the IDE [via Daniel Fisher]. Good stuff.

VS.NET Shortcuts
Having just registered for and been accepted to the Visual Studio Integration Program, I've been going through the included Help collection, and found some neat little tidbits. These actually have nothing to do with the VSIP SDK, but the SDK did lead me to some great docs in the regular VS.NET 2003 Help Collection.

MORE VS.NET 2003 Info
In my previous post, I talked a lot about the new Framework 1.1 and VS.NET 2003, and how they deal with the old stuff. After reading the first comments of my last post, I realized it might take more explaining than I thought. This may be a hard thing to swallow, so clear your mind, and be ready to take the red pill:

More VS.NET 2003/ Framework 1.1 Info
I've seen post all over the net about people nervous about installing VS.NET 2003. Having worked with it for several months now, let me allay your fears.

Something to note about .NET 1.1
Just to let you guys know, the build numbers haven't changed between the Framework 1.1 Final Beta and the Release. (v1.1.4322). I'm going to assume that this means that Paul Wilson's bug goes unfixed in the final release, but I'll let Rob Howard or Scott Guthrie answer that for me.
