Desert Code Camp Is This Saturday (May 31st)
Arizona's Desert Code Camp is this Saturday (May 31st) at the University of Advanced Computing building. Here's the address:
University of Advancing Technology
2625 W. Baseline Road (map)
Tempe, Arizona 85283
It looks like there are a lot of great talks scheduled covering everything from iPhone development to game development to line of business applications.
I'll be giving a talk titled Integrating Data Into Silverlight 2 Applications (slides and code here) on behalf of Interface Technical Training which is scheduled to start at 11:20 AM and run for about an hour. I'll cover several different things in the talk such as:
- Cross-domain policy files
- Calling WCF and ASMX Services with Silverlight 2
- Getting data from RESTful services
- Data streaming options
- Binding data to controls
- Socket support in Silverlight 2 (an example of the sample socket application is shown next)
Swing on by if you have some time Saturday. Desert Code Camp is completely free so it's a great way to learn about different topics if you or your company is on a tight budget.
