Speaking at ASP.NET Connections in Las Vegas

I'll be speaking at the ASP.NET Connections conference next week in Las Vegas and always like to post the slides and content for those that come (and those who can't come).  If you've never been it's a great conference that has a ton of in-depth content.  It's definitely my favorite conference.

I'll be giving a pre-conference workshop on Silverlight and two other regular talks:

Slides and code can be downloaded from the above links.

  • Hey Dan,

Just wanted to say that your lab on silverlight was great. i am still looking forward to 1.1 or 1.2 but this was a great overview of using silverlight. could you point me into the direction of where to get the sample code you went over? not sure where to find it.

anyway yeah great overview. gave me what i needed to jump in!

    Thanks,
    Daniel

  • Glad you enjoyed the session. You'll find the slides and samples at the link above.

  • Ah yeah.. for some reason i must have missed the links when i visited last time. thanks!

  • Apparently this is the spot for Dan's...  Anyways I would like to say that your demo was great as well.  It definetly got me interested in silverlight and I am anxious to try and start developing some applications.

  • Loved the Custom AJAX control presentation.

Only thing it could have used was more cowbell.

    :)

  • Your presentation on Creating N-Layer apps was just what I needed to hear. Now the picture is clearer. Thank you!

  • Hi Dan,

I attended your talks about Silverlight and Custom AJAX Controls at the ASP.NET Connections. I gave both an A+. It is astonishing how much helpful information someone can put into a 75-minutes presentation.

  • I also wanted to say thanks for the pre-conference on SilverLight, it was good to see that Album demo talked about in depth like that and in person.....

Also thanks for being approachable in person and at least entertaining my idea of a blog post talking Sine and Cosine (yuckkkk!!)

  • Thanks for all of the kind comments and for attending the talks. I'm glad that you found the content helpful. :-)

  • Hi Dan,

I went to both of you presentations and they are wonderful.

When returning a list of business objects, you return an array while my approach is to define a class inherited from Collection. Is there any big differences other than personal preference?

I didn't get a chance to ask this before rushing into another session. Could you drop a few lines of comments here?

Thanks again for those great presentations.

  • Tao,

I think it all boils down to personal preference and what functionality you need on the consumer end. I prefer to go with the most stripped down type available simply because it makes service integration easier and more interoperable in some cases. But, it all depends on what you need.

  • You mentioned you used CodeSmith for code generation. Do you have custom CodeSmith templates you use? Would you be willing to publish those?

  • Best presenter at the conference by far. I learned more in your 2 sessions and 1 pre-conference than the others combined. Thanks....

  • Thanks Eric....I really appreciate the comments and am glad you enjoyed the sessions. :-)

  • Glad you enjoyed the Silverlight session soho88. Feel free to contact me through the http://www.xmlforasp.net Website (don't want to leave my email here of course due to spam) and we can chat more about adding paging functionality.
