Great Free Courses on Building HTML5 apps using ASP.NET Web API, Knockout.js and jQuery

Pluralsight has developed some great training courses on the new .NET 4.5 and VS 2012 release, including two fantastic courses from John Papa that cover how to build HTML5 web apps using ASP.NET Web API, Knockout and jQuery:

Free 1-Month Subscription to the Courses

Pluralsight is offering a special promotion that allows you to get a free 1-month subscription to watch the above courses at no cost.  There is no obligation to buy anything at the end of the offer and you don’t need to supply a credit card in order to take part in it.

To get access to the course you simply follow @pluralsight and @john_papa on Twitter and then visit this page and enter your Twitter name using the form on it.  Pluralsight will then send you a private twitter message containing the access code that you can use to subscribe to the courses (and download the course exercise files).  Once you are subscribed to the course you have one month to watch the course (and you can watch it as many times as you want during the month).

Pluralsight is running the promotion through Sept 18th – so sign-up now to get access.  Once you are signed up you then have a month to watch the course.

Hope this helps,

Scott

P.S. And if you are new to Twitter you can also optionally follow me: @scottgu

@Sharvan/Arafat - I just sent mail to Pluralsight to see if they can make those directions clearer.

Thanks,

Course exercise files can be downloaded as a zip file if you click the little green pad & pencil icon when viewing the content.

Awesome! Thanks for posting this!

I've been following John Papa's recent SPA blog series with great interest - I expect these will be some excellent courses!

The single page app course is cool. It goes quite fast and you really need the source code to follow along.

We configured the codes to provide Plus-level access (which includes the exercise files) but apparently there was a bug in our single course subscription logic. Our team has identified the problem and is in the process of pushing and testing a fix. So it should be working soon. Apologies for the confusion!

Looks like if you start watching one of the videos - you can download the materials from the top left corner.

They are kinda good stuff. But users who cant get there or are not able to subscribe. Need a link (online streaming) for that one. So you should give in DVDs or other videos streaming link to them once they are subscribed. That would be great job.

The fix is now live. You should now have access to the exercise files.

Sergio and Arafat,

Please accept my apology for the exercise files not being available right away. We fixed that up earlier this morning so they should be available to anyone who redeems this offer. Thanks so much for your patience!

As a current Pluralsight subscriber I would love to see a way to apply this 1-month trial to see what the exercise files are like without creating a second account.

Thanks pluralsight for providing the source material!

Is there a license for the code? Some ideas and code will probably be copied.

Arjan,

Speaking for myself (not Pluralsight) I believe the code is free to use as long as it is credited back to Pluralsight and myself. There are some libraries included that have their own licensing, so make sure you check those as well.

Scott, thanks for pointing out to that course, its definitely worth the time to view.

I've been a fan of the pluralsight-style from their beginning on.

My wish for the future would be a few more SQL-server-centric presentations & talks from them :-)

A very good course.  I'm watching it now.  The deal came right after I bought a subscription to Pluralsight but I have no regrets.  They have a lot of good content and come out with new material regularly.  Books can't compete since the tech changes so fast.  These videos are awesome.

Scott when will we get .NET 4.5 support on Azure? I think everyone was just expecting this to just be done with the release of Visual Studio 2012 and .Net 4.5 RTM.

Can we at least get some communication / a firm date of when .net 4.5 will be released on Azure so people can make a judgement call on re-engineering applications back to .Net 4 and / other frameworks.

Many Thanks

Hi guys, was hoping to get access to the free course but I think I'm too late! Has this now expired or is the link not working? The message I get from pluralsight's site is "The offer you requested is either invalid or has expired".

Thanks
