First User Group Gathering
Just finish the first gathering day of my .NET User Group yesterday, this is a great success although the number of attendee is far less than the registered/reserved records (Yeah, the number is better than my prediction in fact , we've a registration form and 51 members click the Register button, but 35 members finally attend the gathering only.)
I met many members yesterday and all of them feel excited about this kind of gathering and looking forward to the next gathering. :-) -

Mad About Developers!
I visited a bookstore last month and write an entry about what I see in the past. Apart from the book that I mentioned in my last entry, I also saw a new magazine in that bookstore actually and its name is “.NET Asia Magazine”
Anyway, I browse to the Microsoft Asia site today and found that an inaugural copy of that magazine can be downloaded for FREE. (Yee.... Yeah!) -
FAQ: Display (Expand/Collapse) Hierarchical in ASP.NET DataGrid
I always see the question of “How to display hierarchical data in a DataGrid” in different Forums, Newsgroup, List Servers...etc etc. Therefore, a lot of articles were written in this topic, some of them use WITH ROLLUP keyword in TSQL, some of them use Nested DataGrid, some of them like injecting data into a Table/DataGrid control during ItemDataBound... etc etc, there're really tens of different approach to do the same result. Today, a new columnist join ASPAlliance, his name is Denis Bauer and his first article is exactly talking in this subject.
He wrote a Custom Control named “HierarGrid“ and just published an article about how to use it. This control is a DataGrid-like control and capable of displaying parent-child relationship / data. Moreover, it will generate a Expand/Collapse (Javascript) and toggle the visibibility of the child data per parent item: -

I received > 10 emails from my User Group email account today, all of them containing an attachment - message.zip, and all of them are send from the same admin account of my .NET User Group!
That's obviously odd as I 'm sure there's NO email address with the name of “admin” (I'm one of the domain and email administrators for my User Group domain name) AND all of the emails with the same message body and attachment: -

Domain Name Registration
I browse to a Domain Name registration web site this morning, and I want to search any available or interesting domain name for me. Yes, I know, www.Colt.com is registered by “Colt's Manufacturing Company Inc.” in the United States, and I don't think I can register it within short period of time. The similar 2nd level domain names like Colt.net, Colt.org, Colt.ws, Colt.Whatever are all unavailable.
So, I turn to a local domain name registration office, which is mainly for “.hk” third level domain name registration (i.e. the area code). I'm pretty sure the www.Colt.com.hk is available, as I check it a few months ago. However, it give me a surprise this morning that this domain name was registered by ... Mitsubishi Motors:
